Gift of Adoption Fund - Finding Forever Homes

Your support of Gift of Adoption completes the adoptions of otherwise vulnerable children – giving them a permanent family and the chance to thrive.

Because they were blessed with the resources to afford the financial burden poised by three adoptions, Lucy and Gene Wyka decided to pay it forward. In 1996, with the sole purpose of helping children get adopted, the Wyka’s established a private family giving foundation: The Gift of Adoption Fund.

To strengthen their vision, Lucy and Gene changed the legal status of the fund from a private to a public charity. This allowed affiliate organizations – chapters – to then be formed. Gift of Adoption currently has 25 volunteer-led chapters across the country. To find a chapter near you, click here.

Gift of Adoption grants range from $1,500 to $15,000 and represent the final legal or agency fees- ensuring the adoption is completed and the child comes home. Since inception, Gift of Adoption has awarded $10.6 million to give 3,639 children permanent families and the chance to thrive.
